Cultural Arts Display Changes for 2012 Conference
There were so many beautiful articles in the Cultural Arts Exhibit at Home and Family Conference last June. Thanks for sharing your talents. There were 67 entries and the winners were: First Place – Carolyn Keiser, Clay County, with her Lavender Embroidered Quilt; Second Place – Jan Mullen, Clinton County, with a framed Counted Cross Stitch Crystal Christmas; Third Place – Liz Taylor, Putnam County for her Bargella Pattern Quilt.
As you are aware, there are 3 new categories: QUILTS, NEEDLEWORK, and ARTS & CRAFTS. We will vote for each category making 3 First Place winners. Each county will still have only one (1) entry. Entry forms are in the Blue Book under Activities or on the IEHA Website. Items entered must be done by an Extension Homemaker within the past 2 years.
You may pre-register by sending forms to me or register at Conference in Stewart Center Room 306. It is helpful if your form is completed when you bring the article.
Articles may be entered on Tuesday, June 12 from 4-7 pm and Wednesday, June 13 from 7-8:30 am. If you are unable to get your article there on time, please send it with someone else.
Viewing and voting will begin after the Business Meeting on Wednesday morning. Winners will be announced at the Brunch on Friday morning. All articles will be available for pick-up after the Brunch and until 12 noon on Friday.
I hope many of you are already working on your entries. See you at Home and Family Conference.
